About the Author

Jenni Blackmore is an artist, writer, micro-farmer, and certified Permaculture Design Consultant. Passionate about all things "food," she's an ardent supporter of holistic food production who strives to grow most of her own vegetables. Her most recent book, Permaculture for the Rest of Us, follows her journey from industrial Manchester to a sustainable island homestead in Nova Scotia. When she isn't painting, writing, or tending to the various feathered residents of her QuackaDoodle Permaculture Farm, Jenni likes to slip her kayak into the waves or take her bike for a spin along the trail.

"Remember the last time you stood in the cold cereal aisle at the grocery store and a little voice said, “There's a better way”? I know. You've never grown a garden. You're not that comfortable in the kitchen. What if one little book fixed all that? With The Food Lover's Garden in hand, there's just no excuse, no reason to deprive yourself again this summer. Soon, you'll be eating to your heart and health's content."

"One does not expect a gardening book to make one's mouth water with anticipation. Jenni Blackmore's second helping, The Food Lover's Garden, does just that. The crisp photographs, lushly painted illustrations, and delicious text lead the reader from the garden to the kitchen and pantry with anticipation of culinary delight."
Darrell E. Frey, author, The Bioshelter Market Garden

"As a chef who has, for a good portion of his career, had an ongoing love affair with food that is prepared close to home by people who care, The Food Lover's Garden resonates with me. It's earnest yet thoughtful musings on taste, smell, the challenges of growing food and society's changing respect for those ingredients gives me hope. I love the recipes … well-thumbed pages will be the best legacy that this book can leave."
Michael Howell, Executive Chef, The Green Turtle Club, Abaco, Bahamas, and Executive Director, Devour The Food Film Fest, Wolfville, NS
