Binda Colebrook was a lifelong gardener whose Winter Gardening in the Maritime Northwest is widely recognized as the authoritative reference on the subject. As well as her extensive experience as a homesteader, Binda worked as a wetlands biologist and environmental interpreter in the coastal Washington area. During her retirement, she developed her own property to maximize year-round food production, as well as restoring its native habitat. Binda passed away in April 2020.
