I spend October 31st at a Buddhist Monastery participating in a 'Feeding of the Hungry Ghosts' Ceremony. In the evening, the Zen Master leads our processional to the Monastery cemetery where we all throw paper tombstones into a huge, blazing bonfire while we chant "Homage to the Relics of the Buddha".

This is a good way to do the holiday...spiritually potent, no plastic, no sugar!
