Stacy Malkan

Stacy Malkan is a consumer and environmental advocate and author of Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry which has generated a storm of media attention since its release in October 2007.

Stacy is the media strategist for the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a national coalition working to protect the health of consumers and workers by requiring that the beauty industry phase out the use of hazardous chemicals and replace them with safer alternatives. She helped launch the Campaign in 2002 with the release of a report that found phthalates -- a set of industrial chemicals linked to birth defects and reproductive harm -- in more than 70% of personal care products tested.

Stacy is also the Communications Director of Health Care Without Harm and a former journalist and newspaper publisher who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.



Richard Heinberg

Richard Heinberg is one of the world's foremost Peak Oil educators. He is the author of eight books including Peak Everything, The Party's Over, Powerdown, and The Oil Depletion Protocol.

Richard is a journalist, editor, lecturer, a Core Faculty member of New College of California where he teaches a program on "Culture, Ecology and Sustainable Community," and a Research Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute. His monthly MuseLetter has been included in Utne Magazine's annual list of Best Alternative Newsletters.

Since 2002, Richard has given over three hundred lectures on oil depletion ("Peak Oil") to a wide variety of audiences--from insurance executives to peace activists, from local and national elected officials to Jesuit volunteers. He is married to horticulturist/herbalist/massage therapist Janet Barocco; they live in a suburban house retrofitted for energy efficiency and food production. Richard's primary hobby is playing the violin. He performs frequently with chamber groups and jazz ensembles.




Jerry Yudelson

Jerry Yudelson is the president and founder of Yudelson Associates, an internationally recognized green building and sustainability consulting group dedicated to "growing the business of green building". He is widely considered to be North America's leading authority on marketing green building services, projects and developments.

Jerry is the chair of the steering committee for Greenbuild, the world's largest green building conference, and has written six books on green building, including Green Building A to Z. A professional engineer, he has trained over 3,000 people in the LEED green building rating system.

Jerry has more than 25 years of experience with renewable energy systems, green building design, site planning, environmental remediation and water conservation. In 1980 he built his own green home, a passive solar adobe, in northern California. He has been active in environmental affairs and promoting clean energy solutions since the 1970s. Jerry currently lives at the edge of the Sonoran desert in Tucson, Arizona.



Michael E. Conroy

Michael E. Conroy is an economist who taught for 25 years at the University of Texas. He is at the forefront of the movement to develop certification systems to encourage and reward higher standards of corporate accountability in a wide range of industries, from sustainable forestry, sustainable tourism and ecotourism to certified Fair Trade, responsible mining and global banking. He serves on the boards of several key organizations in the certification field including TransFair USA and the Forest Stewardship Council.

Dr. Conroy has taught about, researched, and written about the "certification revolution" that has created unprecedented transformation of global corporate practices on social and environmental fronts over the past 15 years. His latest book, published in September 2007, is Branded! How the 'Certification Revolution' is Transforming Global Corporations.

Michael Conroy is a charismatic speaker and the co-founder of Colibr Consulting, a firm dedicated to the intersection of certification systems, corporate accountability, and global sustainable development.
